100% of bond funds will be used to support students.

  • This bond will help bring more programs throughout the district such as construction trades and health/dental to the Northeast Valley, veterinary and heavy equipment to the Southwest Valley, and heavy diesel to the Northwest Valley.  It will also allow the purchase of additional land to build new campuses.  It’s a smart investment to train our future workforce.
     
  • West-MEC has kept their promises to build premier regional education centers as well as expand their offerings in adult education.  They have delivered on their previous bond projects since 2012 with fiscal responsibility while building regional facilities that benefit our community and improve our quality of life.

How will the money be spent?

  • Voters will decide on $141 million bond package. Bonds will be sold and used over a twenty year period.
    • Construct, renovate, and equip new and current career and technical education facilities - $126.1 million
    • Purchases leaded facilities and land for future career and technical programs - $8 million
    • Contruct mandatory roadways, sidewalks, and utility connections adjacent to facilities - $6.9 million
  • The average cost to the homeowner is very minimal – approximately $6.06 per year on $100,000 of assessed valuation.

Where are the current Career and Technical Education facilities located?

West-MEC has strategically planned for most facilities to be within 20 to 25 minutes of driving time from most high schools campuses.
